Brian Allard grew up in Ogden, Utah. There, he developed his love for the mountains and outdoors. His junior year of high school he moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Brian attended the University of Missouri and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business and Administration. Longing for the mountains, he went to law school at Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon. Brian graduated in the top twenty-five (25%) of his class. While in law school, he had an article title Remedying Environmental Harms published with the Willamette Environmental Law Journal.
In 2015, Brian started his legal career in Missouri. He first practiced as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri in the environmental and general civil litigation divisions. He defended and prosecuted actions, such as employment, slip and falls, contract disputes, and environmental actions on behalf of the State. He then practiced in Kansas City at a small nationwide products liability and personal injury firm. At that firm he gained invaluable litigation experience, filing lawsuits against the major car manufacturers and their suppliers in catastrophic injury cases. He then moved back to the mountains where he has been practicing in Longmont, Colorado for over six years in the areas of real estate and business.
Brian is an experienced trial and transactional attorney. His practice focuses on real estate and business. He represents residential property managers and landlords in County Court and District Court cases. He also represents commercial property managers, tenants, and landlords in District Court cases. He drafts, negotiates, and advises clients on commercial and residential leases. He also advises clients on all aspects of landlord-tenant matters whether it be the lawful retention of a security deposit or a warranty of habitability claim.
Beyond his landlord-tenant practice, he litigates real estate disputes, such as easements, quiet title, foreclosures, mechanics liens, and construction defect cases. He advises and drafts easements, purchase and sale agreements, and assists client with subdivisions and other real property related matters. His business practice focuses on litigating contract and business sale disputes. He also drafts and advises clients on asset and stock purchase agreements.
Brian has served and currently serves as the President of the real estate section of the Boulder County Bar Association (“BCBA”). He is also currently an at-large officer on the Colorado Bar Association (“CBA”) Real Estate Section Council. Through these organizations, he keeps up to date on new and upcoming legislation. He regularly presents on landlord-tenant and related real estate laws at BCBA and CBA events. In 2025, Brian was rated by Super Lawyers as a rising star. This accolade is presented to only 2.5% of attorneys in the nation.
