Lisa Chorness Hovden has been practicing law for over 45 years, having been admitted to the State Bar of California in 1978. She earned her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UC Berkeley. Ms. Hovden began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles, where she served from 1979 to 1984. During her tenure, she tried several hundred misdemeanor and felony cases. In 1984, she transitioned to private practice, where she has since represented hundreds of clients in criminal matters across Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties. She is admitted to the Federal Bar, has appeared in the Los Angeles Central District Federal Court, and is a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar. In addition to her criminal law practice, Ms. Hovden has extensive experience in family law, handling matters involving child custody, child support, spousal support, and property valuations. She is a member of the Long Beach Bar Association and has served as an elected member of its Board of Governors.
