Ms. Haag, co-founder of Buchsbaum & Haag, is an experienced litigator whose practice is exclusively devoted to representing employees in all areas of employment law matters. She routinely handles employment lawsuits involving claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, including misclassification, unpaid overtime and meal/rest period violations, PAGA, class actions and whistle-blowing matters. Ms. Haag has obtained millions of dollars in trial verdicts and settlements on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Haag has been recognized by her peers as a Southern California Super Lawyer in the area of employment law since 2014, a distinction only 5% of Southern California Attorneys are awarded. Prior to that time, she was honored as a Rising Star from 2010 to 2013, a distinction given to only 2.5% of Southern California lawyers who are either under 40 years of age or have been in practice for less than 10 years. Ms. Haag has also been selected as a Top Women’s Lawyer of Southern California since 2015.
Ms. Haag is admitted to practice law in California, the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern and Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Employment Law Section and California Employment Lawyers Association. She has taught a variety of employment courses through Lorman Education.
Prior to starting Buchsbaum & Haag, she was a partner at the law firm of Carlin & Buchsbaum, where her practice was focused solely on employment law on behalf of employees. Before then, she worked at a large firm on the management side. This experience provided an unique perspective and insight to both sides – the employee and the employer, which is an advantage when litigating these employment matters.
Ms. Haag received her law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000. During her time at UCLA, she taught an undergraduate course on Sexual Harassment. Ms. Haag received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated summa cum laude in 1997.
