Silvia is an Associate with Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC. Her work focuses on defending health care professionals and organizations in complex medical malpractice claims and business dispute claims. Before joining the firm Silvia worked several years at a busy Detroit litigation firm regularly handling hearings, briefing arguments, and strategizing plans of action. Before that, she gained experience in business transaction and startup work.
In addition to her work at Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, she is heavily involved in the legal community, including several leadership positions. She sits on the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section as Treasurer, is the Chair-Elect of the Oakland County Bar Association New Lawyers Committee and is a Litigation Advisory Board Member for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Silvia was also the recipient of the Oakland County Bar Association 2019 Bonnie L. Butler Outstanding new Lawyer Award.
In addition to being a scholarship recipient in law school, Silvia was a member of Michigan State’s Trial Practice Institute, was a clinician with the Small Business & Nonprofit Law Clinic, and an editor of the Journal of Business & Securities Law. Additionally, she interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, the 37th District Court of Michigan with the Honorable Judge Matthew P. Sabaugh and clerked with an Ingham County law firm.
