Lauren is an Associate Attorney with the firm. Her work includes defending health care organizations and professionals in medical malpractice claims.
Prior to joining Foley, Baron, Metzger, & Juip, Lauren worked for a medical malpractice insurance defense firm in metro-Detroit as a paralegal. It was there that she honed her legal skills and decided to attend law school to further pursue her interest in medical malpractice and healthcare litigation.
While in law school, Lauren interned with two Lansing-area law firms and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. As a law clerk she co-drafted an appellate brief submitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and, in consolidation with other cases, the Supreme Court of the United States. Portions of her briefing were heard in oral argument during the Supreme Court’s October Term 2021. Her health law-concentrated coursework notably included a directed study and proposal essay regarding major factors of rising healthcare litigation costs and exploring potential solutions. She also served on the Moot Court Board of Advocates and competed in the National Health Law Moot Court Competition, which is sponsored by the American Health Law Association and the American College of Legal Medicine.
Lauren joined Foley, Baron, Metzger, & Juip as a paralegal, specializing in medical malpractice defense, while she eagerly awaited her Michigan Bar Exam results. She is a member of the Health Care Law, Environmental, and Young Lawyers Sections of the State Bar of Michigan.
