Enrico (Eric) is a Partner with Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip, PLLC. He has defended healthcare institutions and professionals for over 23 years. Eric has significant trial experience, and is lead trial counsel for several national and local healthcare systems and insurers. His extensive experience across multiple medical specialties allows him to efficiently assess the strengths and weakness of each case to effectively collaborate with his clients and determine the best course of action for each matter.
Eric’s defense practice spans a broad range of medical specialties, including emergency medicine, orthopedics, general surgery, anesthesiology, cardiology, gynecology, infectious diseases, neurology, nursing, oncology, pharmacology, podiatry and radiology. In addition, he has successfully represented healthcare clients in high-exposure, high-publicity, mass tort claims. He also represents hospitals’ interests in general liability and worker’s compensation matters.
Eric provides educational and consulting services to risk managers and claims personnel to help reduce his clients’ exposure to litigation. He and his team have developed and utilize a comprehensive and effective mock deposition system to educate hospital staff on deposition performance and pitfalls. Additionally, he has instructed numerous physicians, residents, nurses and other professionals over the course of his career on ways to reduce exposure to lawsuits through clinical improvement and appropriate charting.
In addition to malpractice litigation, Eric also provides legal services to several independent physician and counseling practices in matters involving employment, lease, vendor, and acquisition issues.
