We had a long drawn out court battle with a family member over my father in laws estate, it too 5 years and more money then it was worth, mostly on the part of the person we were suing.
Huge waste of time and money. He lies about what he can do and what he does to generate excessive bills. When given the opportunity to settle, he files needless motions to make himself more money. Can tell he is just trying to get the last bit of money for his overdue retirement. His is dishonest and greedy.
Robert Borteck spends half a year in Florida. While he is there he pads his bills, billing for his time while he was not working. I tried to speak to him about it when I found out. At first, he denied he was away, but then he said that he can work from Florida. It did not add up. He was much less responsive when he was away, not answering calls or messages as quickly as when I knew he was in New Jersey. We finally had to fire him and get a good lawyer, but I was not able to recoup the money I had spent. My new lawyer had heard that Borteck had been doing this before and encouraged me to file a complaint with the state bar association. He also said that I could file a civil lawsuit against Robert Borteck for my time ad financial loss.
