Hired Attorney

Concerned about my 96 year old mother staying in New Jersey with a long time friend after a hospital called me with"concerns". I removed her from his care. He sued for guardianship in New Jersey(and control of her assets). A lawyer in NYC (where her legal address was) would've charged a $2000 retainer to take the case and successfully resolve it for me; said they couldn't take the case when they found out she was then in a New Jersey hospital. Desperate,with an upcoming court date in just 2 weeks, I went to Adam Dratch. He said he'd get me what I wanted, but required I pay him $25,000 to take the case to its completion. Being Desperate,I paid him. Big mistake. Opposing council lied on forms submitted to the court, the opposing party lied about his own employment history and my employment history,;Mr Dratch refused to challenge;saying his good reputation in court would.give.us success. My mother died before trial. He wanted $5,000 more to only get me into Probate process and bury her!
