Filed someone else's supporting paperwork in the incorrect court even though she's the one that wrote up the original paperwork with what court additional matters were to be handled in. Very confident until being proven inept then responded like she didn't know what happened and blamed it on everyone else. She'll be getting reveiwed by the NYS BAR association for breaching client confidentiality since she asked requested the wrong paperwork back yet didn't realize she filed the same wrong paperwork with the court and the court gave me a copy of the same incorrect paperwork that was someone else's. I've conntact them and im sure they'll file appropriate actions. Very unprofessional !
This was my initial experience navigating the legal process, and it proved to be quite challenging. I do not believe Karen would be a suitable choice for representation. Unfortunately, she appeared unprepared for court proceedings and expressed that my request for regular brief communication with our two-year-old was unreasonable and infringed upon the other parent's time. My experience with her as an attorney was not satisfactory.
Granted my divorce case was in 2018. But my review coming out now stems from the fact that I needed her help from being in a toxic marriage for 18 years. When in the process, she had called me and told me that she was going to be getting out of my ex-husband's weekly income for maintenance or alimony, that she was going to have me receive $200 a week. In which I thought was a little too much to take from him. I should have kept my mouth shut, because she then agreed to $50 a week for only 2 years. My life has been a living hell financially ever since. I remember when I called her she pretty much said that it's just too bad it's over with. To go from $200 a week for however long down to $50 a week for only 2 years in an 18-year marriage, is most definitely not suffice because it's been gone and done all this time and I'm still struggling like hell! I still have bills hanging from 8 years ago. Thanks for nothing Karen I paid my retainer the day that I met you. You as my lawyer failed me.
