Previously, she served as a Deputy County Attorney in Dawson County, Nebraska for five years, where she argued motions before state and appellate courts, conducted bench trials, and represented the state in civil, misdemeanor, and juvenile matters. She advised county officials, drafted policies and monitored legal proceedings of state interest. Prior to that, she worked as an independent contract attorney and as a partner at a law firm in Omaha, handling litigation, negotiations, and legal research. Her experience also includes regulatory work with the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance, where she investigated consumer complaints and conducted hearings against financial institutions. Katherine’s experience outside Nebraska includes litigation and consumer debt negotiations in Tennessee and Oklahoma. She worked as a contract attorney in Nashville, a Team Lead Attorney handling settlements in Oklahoma City, and an associate focusing on financial regulations and foreclosure cases.
