I was assigned Joseph Williams for an ovi case. He gathered zero evidence for my case. He completely overlooked the abuse on scene. He "couldn't get" dash camera footage because "it didnt exist" I got my own attorney after he refused to help me any further. His idea of helping his clients is showing up for 10 mins and allowing the prosecution to form the case. I got with Scott Kelly on the day before my trial and he gathered all the evidence Mr Williams "couldn't make appear" not to mention i called every day for a week to try to get different respentation. This public defender has no motivation to help anyone. As for my case was resolved with the help of Scott Kelly. He did what Mr Williams failed to do in one day before trial. Please if you have the money get Scott Kelly it in your best interest.
Joe Williams showed up on the day of my pretrial for the charge of failure to identify. After i was arrested for no reason at my mother's deathbed on Jan 4 2022. He said he was from the public defender's office, but i never contacted them about the case. I knew he was really my sister's friend from the prosecutor's office she had talked so much about in the weeks before setting me up to be arrested. I turned down Joe's offer of a $250 fine and demanded a jury trial. I told him i wanted the security guard who behaved like a maniac to explain his behavior to a jury. Mr. Williams then made sure I never received any notice for the next hearing because one never went out in the mail. He then lied about my request for a jury trial in court. Saw me tried with no time to prepare, kept me from getting my own attorney. I was tried without a jury, and convicted when he had video evidence of my innocence and never introduced it. He also refused to give me a copy or allow me to view the footage.
