He is a true scam artist! A womanizer and a joke as an attorney. He had an attorney, Jon Plourde, on his staff, that had previously been with a large firm in Lewiston. However, he lost his and was fired. he lost his license for two years. Please read the report it is public knowledge. He is not organized, nor is his very minimal staff! The most dishonest man we have ever met!!!! Stay away from this firm!! Especially women!!
Mr. Shankman is not an Attorney, but a true scam artist, who will drain your wallet, mind and body! From what I have read he is rather consistent. After 3 years, and over $20k, nothing was resolved in my case. He failed to vet Attorney Jon Plourde, who was, also, working on my case (I was not aware of who he was nor that he was assisting) for a conflict of interest. Shankman hired Mr. Plourde when he was released from his license suspension. Mr. Plourde was released from a firm, that had represented my ex, and both Mr. Shankman and Mr. Plourde knew there was a conflict of interest, as Mr. Shankman felt we would have a benefit of Mr. Plourde knowing what buttons to push with my ex in court. I did not find any of this out until Mr. Shankman HAD to withdraw from my case within 48 hours of appearing in court. The office is EXTREMELY unorganized, losing my files from time to time. Please read his reprimands on the Board of Overseers of the Bar. Please research this mans reputation!
Do not hire ! Unless you have an endless supply of money, it's all he cares about!!! A divorce cost me 14,000.00 and it never even went to trial! In the end I am the one who negotiated a deal with my x ! I never even got a copy of my final divorce papers, I had to call the court and pay to get them sent to me!!! Waste of money and I regret every penny I spent on this lawyer!
