I have known Ruth McElroy for 10 years at a professional level. When my marriage was failing, I contacted Ruth, and she advised me as how to prepare for an eventual divorce. Her advice was spot on and prepared me for the unexpected. A few years later, I reached out to Ruth to move forward with a contentious divorce. My ex made 5 times my income. Throughout the process, Ruth was able to ease the financial burden with keen advice. I always deferred to Ruth as I trusted her knowledge and experience. In the end, I won the divorce. Her fees were nominal and fair based on what I gained in the end. Later, my ex took me to court on another issue, and Ruth was valent! We won and he had to pay the court and attorney fees! Now my ex leaves me be. Ruth is kind, compassionate, responsive, and empathic. Her and her team are always available, even to listen to you break down. She does not nickel and dime you at all.
I retained the firm to represent me in my divorce from my husband. I have a 7 year old daughter and we were victims of abuse. I paid over $30,000 to the firm and after working for almost a year with my attorney Ruth McElroy she decided to pass off my case to an associate attorney in the firm with only one day notice. I wasn’t ever told of this change prior to the Friday before my case. I had no time to ask questions and I had never met with this attorney. It was a disaster and although the firm was provided more than 100 exhibits they didn’t bring ONE! Well they did bring 1 .. a photograph of bruises but it wasn’t shown to opposing counsel and therefore couldn’t be admitted into evidence. I ended up testifying and thank GOD the judge believed me. It turned out I was awarded partial attorneys fees based on my compelling honest emotional testimony. When I met with Ruth a few days after to express my concern she looked at me and said “Ashley you don’t look like a victim”
Ruth McElroy was extremely incompetent of basic laws and made a very minimal effort toward my help. plead guilty unaware of doing so and would arrive late every date. Would never recommend for drug crimes.
Selfish. Inconsiderate. Incompetent. Rude. Seems to side with the male party even if you’re the one paying her. She doesn’t care about the children involved. Doesn’t care about the her own clients … if she likes the man in the other party or thinks they are good looking she will flirt and side with them
Complete parasite of the legal system. She should be a used car salesman. Will tell you everything under the sun to get you money, and then do NOTHING. Total waste of life in the world of law. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
