About Stefany Ann Tewell

Partner Stefany 'Miley' Tewell brings more than three decades of legal excellence to WSHB’s Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dallas, Texas, offices. She is recognized for her commanding presence in the courtroom, sophisticated negotiation abilities, and innovative litigation strategies. Stefany represents a diverse clientele in high-stakes civil cases, including those involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, mass torts, wrongful death, and complex liability. Her proven record in navigating large-loss exposures and intricate disputes distinguishes her as a trusted advocate in the legal community.

A retired District Court Judge, Stefany served for 16 years in Las Vegas, presiding over both civil and criminal matters. She additionally served as an alternate justice on the Nevada Supreme Court. Stefany is recognized for her trailblazing judicial decisions, including granting Nevada’s first equal adoptive rights to same-sex parents and conducting the state’s inaugural remote trial to accommodate a bedridden litigant. Before joining the bench, she established herself as a prominent trial attorney in private practice for more than a decade.

Stefany’s distinguished career is marked by numerous accolades, including becoming the youngest Trial Court Judge ever elected in Nevada and being recognized as one of MYVEGAS Magazine’s Top 100 Women of Influence in 2016 .

Her legal expertise is further reflected in pivotal roles in landmark Nevada cases, including Daisy Trust v. Wells Fargo Bank (quiet title), Nevada Power Co. v. 3 Kids, LLC (condemnation and fair market value), Amaral v. Shull (contract and fraud), Flores v. Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (firearms regulation preemption), Pizarro-Ortega v. Cervantes-Lopez (damages computation), and Torres v. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co . (post-judgment interest).

Additionally, Stefany is a trained mediator, having completed over 40 hours of mediation training at the National Judicial College.
