Michael C. Kane founded THE702FIRM Injury Attorneys with a wealth of legal experience and a background in science. “Knowing the medicine gives you a step up,” he said. “It really helps to know the science and the mechanics of an injury.”
A native of Iowa (his dad worked for Deere & Company), Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in 2003 in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. While an undergraduate, he was part of a surgical research team whose work was published in a medical journal. He obtained his law degree from Drake Law School in 2006, after serving an internship in Istanbul, Turkey.
Drake’s strong alumni network drew Michael to Las Vegas, where he first worked on the defense side of the aisle, representing insurance companies. He soon switched to representing injured individuals and families instead and founded THE702FIRM Injury Attorneys in 2013.
“We take cases that other firms would turn down because they’re too complex or they don’t see a way to win. But we find ways to resolve them,” he said.
Michael relishes taking on insurance companies that try to devalue or deny his clients’ claims. He excels at conducting strong cross-examinations of experts and has obtained many notable settlements for his deserving clients.
Michael and Bradley J. Myers, who serves as the lead attorneys on all cases at the law firm, pride themselves on open communication with their clients but also being able to serve people in their times of need.
“Their whole lives change after an accident, and they put their trust in us to make it right,” he said.
The well-known rating service Super Lawyers named Michael a “Rising Star” in 2009 and from 2017 through 2020, based on peer nominations, peer evaluations, and independent research. In addition, the American Institute of Legal Counsel named Michael to its “10 Best Under 40” list of skilled attorneys.
When not in court, Michael is an avid skier and enjoys tennis, golf, and spending time with his two children.
