About Elizabeth M. Sorokac, Esq.

Elizabeth M. Sorokac is an owner and founder of the Reisman Sorokac law firm. Ms. Sorokac has been practicing law in Nevada since 2001, and throughout her legal career, she has been associated with some of the most well-respected attorneys in the state. Her practice focuses on real estate, government affairs and corporate matters. She also assists clients in government administrative processes and in litigation.

In her real estate and government affairs practices, Ms. Sorokac has tackled virtually all aspects of real estate, including zoning and land-use entitlements, purchases, sales, commercial leases, business licensing, permitting and development agreements. Ms. Sorokac frequently represents clients before the administrative boards in the following jurisdictions: City of Las Vegas; Clark County, including its rural areas; Pahrump; Nye County; and City of Henderson.

Ms. Sorokac's corporate practice assists clients with entity formation, corporate record maintenance, contract review, and guidance in general business-law matters. The litigation Ms. Sorokac manages generally relates to her transactional practice and includes appeals from administrative decisions and lawsuits regarding, among other things, recall and elections law, real estate developments and real estate contracts.

Practice Highlights

- Represented a client in a $40 million real estate transaction involving multiple businesses, properties and privilege licenses

- Obtained the approvals for one of the largest materials recovery facility and recycling centers in Southern Nevada

- Represented the owner of a gas and convenience store chain consisting of eleven locations in Southern Nevada

- Represented a client in the purchase and sale of an existing 150-room rehabilitation facility and in obtaining the appropriate state and local licenses to operate a medical detoxification facility

- Represented a client in the purchase and sale of land and in obtaining the approvals for a billion-dollar, resort hotel and casino in the City of Henderson

- Obtained the approvals for a 900-acre, master-planned community - the largest of its kind in Nye County

- Represented a Nye County Commissioner in challenging the recall efforts made against him

- Obtained reversal of a local city council decision that stripped the client of its property rights to a valuable billboard, through successful appeal in the Eighth Judicial District Court

- Obtained the approval of a development agreement for an 18-acre, mixed-use, commercial, retail, and office development through Clark County's high-impact-project process

- Practiced high-dollar, complex commercial litigation as an associate of a current Nevada Supreme Court Justice

- Served as law clerk to the Honorable Gene T. Porter, Chief Judge and Business Court Judge, in the Eighth Judicial District Court

- Functioned as in-house counsel for the largest master-plan community developer in Southern Nevada

- Nominee for Las Vegas Business Press' Women Who Mean Business Award - 2011
