Mike goes to bat for injured workers and negligence victims each day for the past fifteen (15) years. Since 2015, Mike has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as a certified specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law. Mike only represents injured workers and their families – never employers or insurance companies.
Prior to law school at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, Mike earned his Pennsylvania teaching certification in grades K-12 from Bloomsburg University. Although his teaching license is now kept in inactive status, Mike regards the skills gained at the front of the classroom with the same level of importance and value as those earned in law school. With his background and strong family ties to public education, Mike has developed lasting relationships with unionized members of our community whom he represents in workers’ compensation proceedings across the Commonwealth. These valued clients and community members include teachers, nurses, police, firefighters, corrections officers, and carpenters (to name a few).
Active in and outside of the profession, Mike is the President of the Middle District Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and has held leadership roles with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Mike is a member of the Advisory Council for Junior Leadership Northeast and coaches in the Back Mountain Little League.
Mike is married to the former Jill Zapotoski, a pharmacist, and they have been blessed with two (2) children.
