I engaged his services with regards to an education matter re: my being discriminated against at a tertiary institution in Jamaica. Secondly, on a matter of discrimination at the workplace where there was a serious breach in Labor Relation Industrial Dispute Act in Jamaica.
WARNING‼️ Avoid this law firm as you would a plague. Six months & $200K of my hard earned money later, nothing done and zero communication despite numerous phone calls. I am at my wits end and will have to take legal action against the
Poor service received, I have sent emails, visited and make calls to find out what is happening with my case but to no avail. One person tried to help me and he wasn't even a lawyer, just an assistant who was doing intern work. You can never speak to anyone but they are quick to offer their service when you are putting on someone to them. I personally would not recommend them to anyone.
What I had hired the lawyer to do, was not done! After payment, very little was done to my case. He padded the bill just to not give me back my refund! Be warned do not go there! Court orders have been passed, completely negligent and have no intention to do the work that you are paying them to do. Again, do not go there!
Subject: WARNING - Avoid Nigel Jones & Company at All Costs! I am writing to warn others about my nightmarish experience with Nigel Jones & Company. This firm's unethical practices, poor communication, and lack of accountability make them unfit for legal representation. They asked me to pay 100,000 JMD as a retainer after paying $12,000 consultation fee. After paying this, Jovell Barrett sent one email with misspelt words and I immediately knew they do not take pride in their work. I reached out to Jovell Barrett to let him know about the mistake and we immediately couldnt get access to him as we did before we paid. My assistant help going to his office but would keep getting the run around that he was on lunch, out of the country or in court. I then decided to cancel this contract and asked for a refund. Despite numerous attempts on my part to request termination of our contract since December 29th, there has been a notable absence of progress or acknowledgment from their end.
The minute you sign with Jason Jones Legal, that is when all communication stops. I had to be constantly following up with my case for any update. The matter was for motor vehicle accident and I'm telling you, not even the audacity to say, "this is what is happening now." Would never use their services again and definitely does not recommend him to others.
