Hired for my daughters (Petitioner) restraining order case where all the paperwork and evidentiary documentation had been done, including the initial hearing and service to respondent. He charged almost $10,000 and promised he would advocate. We met once for 45-minutes prior to the final hearing and he filed only documents and statements we already had. When we met, he hadn’t even reviewed what had already been filed, but he talked like a 10k lawyer and assured us he would ensure the protection order would go through. The day of the hearing, he looked at my daughter and said “We’re going to get you a protection order today”. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Even with two hours until the case was presented, he fumbled through his remarks, made her case something it wasn’t, didn’t have her speak to what she’d been through and bumbled through the hearing like an incompetent and uninvested novice. There was no advocating, no reference to what the case was actually about.
