Josh Cooley is a trial attorney who represents individuals and families harmed by the negligence and wrongdoing of others. His practice focuses on civil litigation, helping clients recover the financial compensation they need to move forward after serious injuries.
Josh earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. During law school, he first developed a connection to Alaska while interning with the Alaska Public Defender Agency in Kenai. After graduating, he began his litigation career in Miami, Florida—one of the busiest trial jurisdictions in the country—where he developed extensive courtroom and deposition experience.
Over the course of his career, Josh has conducted more than 1,000 depositions and served as lead counsel in more than 75 jury trials. Most cases resolve without a trial, but Josh prepares each case as though it will be tried, because that level of preparation often leads to the strongest results for clients long before a courtroom becomes necessary.
Today, Josh focuses his practice on helping injured clients hold negligent parties accountable and obtain full and fair financial recovery.
Josh lives in Alaska and enjoys the independence and self-reliance that life in the state encourages. Outside the office, he is a licensed pilot and spends much of his time flying, skiing, hiking, and exploring Alaska’s backcountry. He also enjoys woodworking and building projects in his shop.
