Jason leads the Litigation and Real Property Teams at Herbert Machnik Law Firm, leveraging his team’s collective knowledge and experience to protect clients from litigation and liability. When litigation is unavoidable, Jason takes a firm yet practical approach, focusing on the client’s overall best interests rather than solely on the legal outcome. His real-world experience outside the practice of law equips him to understand the broader implications of legal decisions, ensuring the most favorable results for his clients.
A native of Kalamazoo with an international upbringing, Jason was raised speaking English and Italian and later studied French and Japanese. He graduated cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he earned the Certificate of Merit in Property Law. Jason began his legal career by prosecuting his first jury trial in 2011. He has since served as a county prosecutor, worked with three circuit court judges, joined a large Kalamazoo law firm, and became a partner in a smaller firm before co-founding Herbert Machnik Law Firm with Ben Herbert.
With extensive experience in Litigation, Real Estate, Employment, and Business Law, Jason is also a certified mediator. He leads adaptable legal teams that provide tailored solutions to meet each client’s unique needs.
