About Aaron L. Weisman

Aaron L. Weisman is a seasoned attorney with more than three decades of legal experience in complex litigation, government investigations, and appellate advocacy. As a Partner with Pannone Lopes Devereaux & O’Gara LLC, he represents corporate and individual clients in complex civil and criminal litigation matters in state and federal court. Mr. Weisman also represents firm clients in state and federal regulatory and enforcement actions, internal investigations, and high-stakes disputes involving government entities and private parties.

Attorney Weisman brings a unique perspective to litigation following a distinguished career in public service. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island, the State’s Presidentially appointed, Senate-confirmed chief federal law enforcement officer. In that capacity, Mr. Weisman supervised and led a team of dedicated federal assistant united states attorneys as they built complex prosecutions and defended the United States from suits in the District of Rhode Island. Mr. Weisman as well, during his tenure as United States Attorney, supervised a wide range of complex cases involving financial fraud, healthcare fraud, cybercrime, civil rights violations, tax enforcement, and other federal litigation matters.

Prior to his appointment as U.S. Attorney, Attorney Weisman served for more than 25 years in the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office, including as Chief of the Criminal Appeals Unit. In that role, he represented the State of Rhode Island in hundreds of appellate matters before the Rhode Island Supreme Court and provided legal guidance on complex trial and appellate issues arising from cases across the state. Over the course of his career, he has served as counsel of record in hundreds of published appellate decisions and has argued cases in every level of state and federal court, including an argument before the Supreme Court of the United States.

Attorney Weisman’s extensive litigation and appellate background provides clients with strategic insight in navigating complex legal disputes, regulatory matters, and government investigations. His practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation strategy, appellate advocacy, government enforcement matters, and complex dispute resolution.

Earlier in his career, Attorney Weisman practiced with a Providence-based appellate litigation firm before entering public service.
