Bryce Lair was born in 1973 in Vinita, Oklahoma. Mr. Lair graduated from Vinita High School in 1992. He attended the University of Oklahoma for undergraduate studies and received a BA in Political Science in 1996. After a brief stint in the US Army, Mr. Lair attended the University of Arkansas School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in May of 2000 and was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in September of the same year.
After spending 5 years in general private practice at Ward and Lair in Vinita he was hired by then District Attorney Eddie Wyant for the 13th DAs Office as an Assistant District Attorney handling general felony and misdemeanor prosecutions for Delaware and Ottawa Counties until the end of 2010. In 2011 Mr. Lair then did a stint as First Assistant District Attorney in the 12th District Attorney’s Office before reentering private practice in 2014 and moving to Texas to practice law there for four years as a criminal defense attorney, working both solo and with criminal defense firms.
In 2018 he was recruited by then District Attorney Kenny Wright to come back to the 13th District Attorney’s Office for Oklahoma to run the Ottawa County office in Miami before eventually being named as First Assistant District Attorney over both Ottawa and Delaware Counties until he landed with Davis and Thompson at the beginning of 2023.
During his criminal law practice, both as a state prosecutor and defense attorney, Mr. Lair has handled several thousand misdemeanor cases, including, but not limited to, DUI, Domestic Assaults, and simple drug possession. He has also handled over a thousand felony cases, including but not limited to; Murder, Manslaughter, Rape, Drug Trafficking and Distribution, Burglary, Armed Robbery, Felony DUI, Embezzlement, and most other felony offenses listed in Oklahoma Statutes. Mr. Lair has also handled many thousands of probation violation cases filed as motions to accelerate deferred and revoke suspended sentences for both misdemeanors and felonies. Mr. Lair was also tasked with training and advising other Assistant DAs and support staff while acting as First Assistant DA in the 12th and 13th DA’s Offices.
