About Asa H. Johnston

In 2014, Asa Johnston graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Sociology. In 2017, he received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. During his second year in law school, Asa worked with appellate staff attorneys of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court to review county court appeals and make ruling recommendations to panels of circuit court judges. During his third year, Asa participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic as a certified legal intern. In that role, he worked with the Public Defender’s Office of the Eighth Circuit to represent indigent clients from arrest to trial.

In 2017, Asa was admitted to the Florida Bar. Immediately thereafter, he clerked for the Honorable Mark W. Klingensmith of Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a clerk, he worked on nearly 100 appeals ranging in topic from constitutional rights to taxation. In early 2019, Asa relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, and served as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting cases ranging in severity from misdemeanors to first-degree felonies punishable by up to life. To date, Asa has tried several cases to verdict.

Asa joined Fisher, Tousey, Leas & Ball in 2020. His practice focuses on all forms of civil litigation; most notably, probate, trust, business, commercial, and real estate litigation.

Asa and his wife, Kristie, live in the Mandarin area with their dog, Ranger. Asa is an avid Atlanta Braves and Jacksonville Jaguars fan.
