My experience with this trustee was less than rewarding, as I feel I was financially exploited. I am an elderly paraplegic/amputee who had to file bankruptcy in order to retain my home. Needless to say, a plan for payment was developed in September, 2021, of which the trustee paid himself 10% each month. In June, 2022, my house was lost to fire and once my insurance company sent me a check, I gave it to my attorneys and they turned it over to the trustee, who immediately (before paying off my creditors) took 10% of the insurance check for himself, which in total, exceeded 10% of the amount owed on my plan as well as exceeded 10% of the amount paid into the plan). A true interpretation of the statute on trustee payment is warranted because his interpretation has allowed the trustee to wrongly disburse funds to himself above 10%. I feel certain that this has been the norm and that others have been victims to this form of financial exploitation of the vulnerable.
