Jeffrey C. Joy has deep experience advising clients in connection with domestic income tax and estate planning, international tax and estate planning as well as a wide range of business transactional matters. His clients include high-net-worth individuals, owners of closely held companies and family offices. Jeff works with business owners to design and implement plans for the transfer of their assets to their children and grandchildren as well as developing plans for the succession of ownership in their companies using a variety of tax efficient techniques including family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, irrevocable trusts, life insurance liquidity plans and other creative strategies.
Since serving as an Attorney-Advisor to the U.S. Tax Court at the beginning of his career, Jeff has had significant tax controversy experience as well. He had represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Tax Court and the California Franchise Tax Board.
