He's a good attorney if you're not in any hurry. He gave me the impression in our first meeting that my divorce was simple and straightforward and wouldn't take more than 90 days. Ended up taking 2 months longer and costing me twice as much. Also I did a lot of the leg work and gave him information he was not aware of concerning new healthcare laws.
I solicited this law firm to handle a purchase agreement. Instead of plainly saying they declined to take me on as a client, they instead sent me a bunch of news articles and mugshot links of another person who conducted criminal mischief on my property. Apparently that was ground enough to not take on any business from me. So instead of hiring local and keeping the money in the community, I feel like this firm erroneously declined to take on me as a client due to others actions.
Hire firm for collaborative divorce. Case took forever even though my ex and I had almost everything worked out. The worst was we made a change to our support and custody a few years later. I started the process in March with a goal of being completed by May. Because Tom is so slow he didn't get every thing done until July. Then filed things wrong. He has only responded once in about 2 months and we still don't have clarification that things are done and it is the end of August!
The receptionist answered the phone is the best I can say about this Firm and Tom Maxwell. If you want, seldom return phone calls, seldom responds to email and seldom met commitments; THIS IS THE FIRM FOR YOU.
