Answered by attorney Patrick Lee Jarrett (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Jarrett & Price, LLC
Do not listen to what these people tell you. You can study anything you wish to study and if you enjoy paralegal work and your grades are good enough, you could go to law school and be a lawyer. I know many lawyers who are immigrants. Follow your heart and never let anyone tell you something is not possible. Welcome to America. Best wishes.

Hello. Unfortunately, the last action on your case is the change of status as of the dates on the new i-94 from the new h1b. In order to return to L1 status, you MUST leave the US and re-enter with the new visa. OR, you may need to file a new change from the H1b back to the L1.

What can I do if I was given a six month B1 visa instead of a 2 years B1 visa?

Answered by attorney Louis M. Piscopo
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Louis M. Piscopo, APLC
The consulate has the authority to issue a B1/B2 for less than two years if if believes that is all the time needed for you to accomplish what you indicated you need the visa for. You can file to renew the visa if you need to travel to the U.S. again.
