Request for Evidence to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status

Can my fiance become a citizen faster if I married her on her visit in the US from Ghana?

Answered by attorney Bruce A. Coane (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Coane & Associates, PLLC
If you marry her while she;'s here and she stays here and you file for the green card, she can certainly get the green card much faster here, than abroad.

On my passport, the visa category stated is IR1, but I was not married for two years or more, is it possible?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
This is probably a mistake by the reviewing officer. However, since you are most likely a conditional resident, there will be issues at your adjustment interview. Be prepared to justify the marriage as legitimate. It will take some preparation to win.
