How can I petition for my mother in another country?

Answered by attorney David Nabow Soloway
Immigration lawyer at Kennedy, Nalepa & Soloway, P.C.
An adult U.S. Citizen may apply for his/her mother located overseas to become a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (to get a "Green Card"). The steps to take are called "consular processing," and require providing proof of the parent/child relationship, the birth document of the parent, the naturalization of the child, etc. Engaging an immigration law firm can help assure that the steps are completed properly from the beginning, to avoid risk of delays or even denial.

What can I do to get him here as soon as possible?

If a person is married, they don't qualify for a "fiance" visa. This is just one complication of immigration law. You would have to file for a "spouse" visa, which is totally different than a fiance visa.

What can be done to stop deportation of my fiance who is the father of my daughter?

Answered by attorney Doreen A. Emenike
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Doreen A Emenike
Hello, We would need more information to determine how to stop the deportation of your fiance. This includes  his immigration and criminal history (if any), how long he has lived in in the U.S., etc. You should speak to an experienced immigration lawyer in your local city to discuss your options. Good Luck.   Disclaimer:The information above is of a general nature and is not, nor is it intended to be legal advice.
