How do I marry an illegal immigrant?

Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Jeffrey Lisnow
If it is just marrying then you may have to speak with someone local if you do not have an attorney. If you are planning on sponsoring this person you would be best served by speaking with an attorney. Many attorneys, such as myself, will even do telephone consultations. Immigration is Federal Law so any attorney that is familiar with immigration can help you.

Answered by attorney Alan Lee

Your mother is her own person and I imagine that she will do whatever she wishes concerning her own immigration status. You are not liable for the actions of your mother unless you are conspiring with her to have her come and stay illegally in the country. The immigration laws do not assign any form of penalties against relatives in cases like the one you describe.
