What happens when your permanent residency card not approved for two years

Answered by attorney David Troy Cox
Immigration lawyer at CoxEsq, PC
You can ask the immigration service to follow-up on the pending application.  If the reason for the delay is a background check or related issue, all you can do is wait.  As long as your marriage was legitimate at the time you married, the fact that it didn't work out later won't affect your ability to become or remain a lawful permanent resident.

Answered by attorney David H Nachman

You may have a cause of action. There are special lawyers who handle these types of cases. You will want to look online to see whether there is a lawyer near you who handles wrongful imprisonment cases.
