How long will it take my wife to get a green card if she is on a B2 visa and we got married?

Arsen V. Baziyants

Immigration lawyer at Law Office of Arsen V. Baziyants
The entire process for your wife's immigration will take 3-4 months. Yes, she would get a work permit in about 2 months. The government fee is $1,490 and I charge $2,500 for cases such as these (with 1/2 to start and the other 1/2 when the case is prepared and ready to file).

What do I do to petition my fiancee from the Philippines?

Reza Athari
Answered by attorney Reza Athari (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Reza Athari & Associates, PLLC
You would need to file an I-129F as well as an I-134 for her with immigration. You would need to submit the required documents which are listed on the instructions of each form. The process can take anywhere from 6-12 months before she is able to have an interview at the embassy in Manila. After obtaining the visa, you will have 90 days to marry your fiancee once they enter the US. A lot of people apply on their own and I do not recommend that. One mistake you make and the process gets a lot longer. I suggest you hire an immigration attorney.

Green Card expired years ago, currently on student visa, want to renew it, advice

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
In my opinion, you and your parents abandoned your green card statuses a long time ago and I do not see you being able to renew the green card. I believe that you would still have to go through the green card process all over again if you wish to stay here as an immigrant instead of as a student.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question.
