What kind of document do I need toget marriage

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
Different countries have different documentary requirements for getting married, so you should check with your home country on that score. Insofar as U.S.C.I.S. is concerned, and assuming that you will later sponsor her for permanent residence (this being an immigration related forum), you would have to present copies of your US citizen or permanent resident status, marriage certificate, proof of dissolution of all former unions for both you and your wife, two passport type photos from both of you, and fill out forms I – 130 (by you) and G-35A biographic data sheets (both you and your wife).Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question. Can my husband receive papers?

Christine Victoria Troy
Answered by attorney Christine Victoria Troy (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Christine Troy
That will depend upon many factors, like how he entered, immigration and criminal record and other factors, whether you can demonstrate extreme hardship. Please set a consult with a competent immigration attorney in your area to have his case evaluated, also looking for 245i and U visa possibilities.

My wife asked me for a divorce the same day she was approved for a CR1 visa. What are my options.

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
I assume by your facts that your wife either entered the country with the CR-1 visa or she was adjusted to permanent residence through an I-485 process to CR-1. She has the right to travel in and out of the country if she has the approval. If you believe yourself wronged, you can lodge a complaint with the Department of Homeland Security which can begin investigating the situation to see whether revocation or removal proceedings should begin.
