Can I apply for green card after L1 approval

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
There is no time restriction on your applying for a green card after obtaining the L-1 approval. Most L-1 visas have dual intent which means that you can intend to immigrate while at the same time maintaining your lawful nonimmigrant status. Should I take my husband's name when my work permit is up for renewal?

Answered by attorney Myron Russell Morales (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at Quan Law Group, PLLC
You can make the change when you renew the work permit or when you file the adjustment of status. Be sure to include a copy of your marriage certificate. The adjustment through your US citizen spouse should be done through an attorney.

Why was I still questioned despite now having a 10 year visa?

Answered by attorney Kenneth G. Wincorn
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Kenneth G. Wincorn & Associates, P.C.
Unfortunately the system is frustrating. It appears from what you wrote that you will not have serious difficulties next time but there is no guarantee that you will not be taken to secondary inspection.
