How should I answer a question on the new citizenship form?

Christine Victoria Troy
Answered by attorney Christine Victoria Troy (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Office of Christine Troy
You need to answer all questions on the form. Under my malpractice insurance I am not allowed to counsel you on how to fill that out! You should bring your issue to a competent immigration attorney and ask very detailed questions. As a general matter you do need to disclose all marriages and past marriages.

Can my boyfriend obtain a work permit once we get married?

Answered by attorney Doreen A. Emenike
Immigration lawyer at Law Offices of Doreen A Emenike
Hello, The first step is to see if your state allows you both to legally marry at the age of 17. You will need to meet the marriage requirements of your state so that the immigration department will recognize your marriage when you petition for your spouse. Good Luck. Would they have to leave the country when the visa number becomes available or would they be able to adjust their status here in the US?

In order for your sons to be eligible for adjustment of status, you must become a naturalized citizen and petition for them before they turn 21 years of age.
