S. citizen minor daughter. Hello. Since you filed the I-485, he must wait for the interview. The processing time will depend on your city/district. However, since you file the I-485, he is legally in the US based on that pending application. His visa expiration date is irrelevant now.  Also, he cannot be approved if he leaves the US, unless he also filed and received his I-131, Advance Parole document.    Good Luck and happy new year.
