Can I file a spouse visa even though I am just a green card holder before his J1 visa expires?

Answered by attorney Peter S Kollory (Unclaimed Profile)
Immigration lawyer at The Law Offices of Peter S. Kollory
Yes you can get married in the USA. Only you will be filing the petition on the basis of a green card holder's permanent status, as the petitioner, for the spouse with the J1, and wait for the visa to be available for adjustment of status. Until the visa is available, he will be on his own visa.

When can my Us citizen son apply for us as a family for green card. he is 16?

Answered by attorney Alan Lee
Immigration lawyer at Alan Lee Arthur Lee, Attorneys at Law
A U. S. citizen child must reach the age of 21 before being able to sponsor parents and siblings. Prior to the change of law in 1976, babies could petition for parents and siblings, but Congress became alarmed and raised the age limit to its present 21. Can someone with a felony conviction get a green card?

Answered by attorney Jennifer Maude Oltarsh
Immigration lawyer at Oltarsh & Associates, P.C.
For even selling a small amount of cocaine, Immigration has no relief. However, if your husband calls me, there may be an alternative, but I need to speak to him for more information. I have been in practice in the immigration field for more than 40 years. I have handled cases with experience, integrity, and good effect. Please call me to discuss your case. The assigned number for your free case evaluation: 0613d. We offer payment plans with no interest.
