About William (Bill) Cory Abbott

Bill Abbott was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1998. Since that time, he has dedicated his practice to assisting injured Texas workers. Bill leads his team of aggressive workers’ compensation lawyers at Abbott, Clay & Bedoy. Although he has handled many different kinds of cases (including personal injury, employment law, maritime offshore injury cases, longshore claims, and more) Bill focuses his practice primarily on representing injured Texas workers.

Bill Abbott was raised for most of his life in the Houston, Texas area. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin before attending law school at Texas Tech University. Since 1998 Bill has been licensed to practice in all Texas courts. In 1999, Bill joined the established Ogletree Law Firm, where after becoming a partner, helped grow the firm’s workers’ compensation practice into the largest claimants’ representation firm in the whole state.

Hired Attorney

I was injured on the job due to a no fault accident. I was very reluctant to hire an attorney because I had no desire to sue the company I work for. After a year of fighting workers comp and being denied for basic test like a CT scan and being denied over and over for a second surgery after workers comp covered the first. I needed to have a chance to get better I hired Bill Abbott and Associates out of desperation. Bill Abbott contacted me personally and stayed in contact with me. Even contacting me on the weekends. Soon I got the CT scan approved, after that the surgery approved. This was a second surgery for this injury. I had the second surgery yesterday (Nov, 15, 2021) after 4 months of denials. Without Bill Abbott workers comp was going to cancel me without any hope of recovery. Now I have hope. My recommendation is if you have a serious work injury contact Bill Abbott immediately… like from the ER. He even discovered that for a year worker’s compensation had been under paying
