The Law Offices of R. J. Atkinson, LLC is a law firm with an office in Houston, TX. At this office location, there are 2 lawyers practicing bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation, chapters 7, 11 and 13 and 11 other areas of law.
There were a few instances of miscommunications and not getting motions filed in a timely manner, but overall, was quite pleased with our experience.
The firm took months to respond to inquiries concerning major life events to include federal income taxes and substantial loss of income. The IRS threatened to report my husband and I as delinquent because the firm did not follow through with with submitting documentation. My husband and I were not aware that we were listed as delinquent until a year later. My husband and I have had a great number of issues with this law firm. Definitely NOT a responsive and client oriented lawyer.
Omg I can not believe that I did not review her now I feel so dumb after reading what everyone has said. She has done the same thing to me. She took my money almost a year and a half ago and never got any where with my simple BK 7! She does not get back to me at all said she would reissue my check and mail it out and still has not done so . Do not hire her at all she is very unprofessional and rude! I am reporting her to the state bar as we speak. She will not get back to you by email or phone. She took $1100 from me and claims all I get back is $400 and she did no work at all I talked to her twice on the phone and I had to call her because she was late calling me than state she will have her assistant call but she never does. She gets away with taking clients money because she knows we won’t do anything.
Very friendly & knowledgeable, but VERY unresponsive to our questions. Very slow to file after we submitted paperwork to her office - 2 months+ - with no explanation. Repeatedly promised to file by a certain date and didn't. Appeared to have taken on much too large a caseload for the size of her staff. Did not act quickly enough and we lost options that could have averted a foreclosure on our house. Office staff not knowledgeable. Would have hired another attorney if we hadn't already paid her.
