She began her career with a Mediation Certification from Norfolk State University, serving as a Mediation Coordinator for the Norfolk Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court in 2004, where she managed over 200 divorce and child custody cases monthly. In 2007, she completed her Bachelor’s in Legal Studies at Kaplan University and became a licensed real estate agent, assisting investors, first-time buyers, and sellers. Her career has taken her to multiple states, ultimately leading her to Houston in 2013. There, she earned her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law Houston, graduating with top honors. Attorney Hicks then contributed her unique skills to the Office of the Attorney General in the Child Support Division until 2020. She is an active member of the Downtown Group, Houston Young Lawyers Association, and the Family and Real Estate Law Sections of the Texas Bar.
