Grimes & Fertitta, P.C. is a civil litigation law firm capable of handling virtually all types of complex litigation. The partners have accumulated expertise in numerous areas of the law. Both name partners have more than 10 years of direct courtroom experience and have practiced with leading senior trial lawyers in a variety of legal areas. After graduation from South Texas College of Law in 1995 both Richard Grimes and Julian Fertitta joined successful insurance defense firms, gaining valuable experience.

I was referred to Richard Grimes by another lawyer I've known and trusted for over 15 years so that was a very good start. Now after 4 months of working and spending quality time with Richard on my case, I can tell you many things. His staff is pleasant and professional to deal with. They are attentive in every way in person, by phone and by email. You can't ask for more than that. It's immediately obvious that Richard is highly intelligent. He is extremely patient with his clients. He is attentive to my needs and he is very kind to his staff. These are all very important. Being kind to his staff shows me he is not full of himself and in fact he is a very humble person. I am 63 years old, have been self employed for 35 of the last 40 years and a business owner. I've worked with dozens of lawyers in my business life. Some lawyers are a mess to work with and some are very good to work with. Richard is a class above the best I've seen. He will always have my business.

The Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings process is the gold standard due to its objectivity and comprehensiveness. Lawyers solicited for peer reviews include both those selected by the attorney being reviewed and lawyers independently selected by Martindale-Hubbell. All reviewers are verified as attorneys through Martindale-Hubbell’s extensive attorney database. Only attorneys practicing at least three years and receiving a sufficient number of reviews from non-affiliated attorneys are eligible to receive a Rating.

What are the different Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings?*

• AV Preeminent®: The highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer’s peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards.

• Distinguished: An excellent rating for a lawyer with some experience. This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.

• Notable: This rating indicates that the lawyer has been recognized by a large number of their peers for strong ethical standards.

Lawyers who have received peer reviews after 2009 will display more detailed information, including practice areas, summary ratings, detailed numeric ratings and written feedback (if available). Details for individual reviews received before 2009 are not displayed.
