Collin Evans was born and raised in Texas. He attended The University of Texas where he received his degree from the Red McCombs School of Business. After graduating, Collin worked in the Intellectual Property division at Fulbright & Jaworski assisting with patent prosecution. Before entering into law school, Collin trained in Muay Thai, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which instilled a sense of discipline, strong work ethic, and disposition to fight that he has carried over into his law practice. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law. In law school, Collin traveled as an advocate with Mock Trial teams for one of the top ranked schools in the nation for trial advocacy. He also clerked for Justice Terry Jennings at the First Court of Appeals, and at the criminal defense law firm of Stradley, Chernoff & Alford for three years. After obtaining his law license, the firm hired Collin as their Associate Attorney where he worked for the next several years fighting for clients and trying cases before founding his own law firm.Collin practices criminal defense law with an emphasis on DWI cases. He has helped clients through difficult situations from initial investigations, to first time DWI offenses, to high profile cases that garner intense media attention. Since becoming a lawyer Collin has obtained acquittals or dismissals for his clients in a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases, including DWI, possession of controlled substances (drugs), assault, family violence, prostitution, arson, sexual assault, Motion to Revoke Probation/Adjudicate and theft charges. As a member of the defense team that represented Dr. Conrad Murray in the involuntary manslaughter charge for the death of Michael Jackson, Collin experienced the intensity that the worldwide media can put on a highly publicized criminal allegation and knows how to handle these types of cases with professionalism and integrity.Collin continually works to be prepared for every client’s situation. He has obtained certification as an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer Scientist. He was trained as a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) Practitioner, just like the police officers that administer the roadside tests in DWI cases. He is an active member of The College of State Bar Texas, National College for DUI Defense, DUI Defense Lawyer’s Association, and multiple defense lawyer associations around the Houston area. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and Texas Lawyer Rising Star for six straight years. He has also received the Avvo Client’s Choice Award every year since starting his own firm in 2013.
