Mr. Smith was hired to represent my son on a domestic violence charge, and the outcome could not have been worse. My son spent five days in jail for contempt of court based on the advice and counsel of this lawyer. After my son being jailed, Mr. Smith completely ghosted us. Of course, we hired another lawyer who could not believe the mess which had been made out of a charge which wasn't a felony. This debacle, based on lack of knowledge of Alabama law, has cost us tremendously. I highly recommend not hiring a lawyer working out of his home. We should have know better, but he was reasonably cheap, and we paid the price. He kept 95% of the retainer for doing nothing.
