With an extensive background in civil litigation, Mr. Suzuki has handled personal injury, products liability, legal malpractice, medical malpractice, construction defect, commercial disputes, and declaratory judgment actions. Mr. Suzuki has prosecuted and defended cases both at the trial level, including jury trials, and the appellate level.
As a faculty member of the National Business Institute, Mr. Suzuki lectures at Continuing Legal Education seminars on discovery, evidence, and trial practice.
Mr. Suzuki graduated cum laude from the University of Chicago, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Receiving a Dean’s Scholarship, Mr. Suzuki obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. While in law school, he received the American Jurisprudence award for Torts II and served as a Staff Editor for the California Western Law Review & International Journal.
An alumnus of Moanalua High School, Mr. Suzuki has been the co-attorney coach for the Moanalua High School Mock Trial Team, which has won ten state championships between 2010 and 2021, and received the inaugural Larry Bakko Professionalism and Civility Award at the 2014 National Championship. Mr. Suzuki has also served as the co-attorney coach for Moanalua High for both of the years it was invited to the Edison H. Miyawaki Moot Court Competition, winning in 2012. In recognition of his service to the school, the Parent Teacher Student Association presented him with a Kinaole Award in 2015. Mr. Suzuki is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in all state courts in Hawaii, the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
