About Myles Alderman, Jr.

Myles H. Alderman Jr. is a founding member of Alderman & Alderman and leads the firm's Bankruptcy, Creditors Rights' and Restructuring Practice Group. He has extensive experience representing businesses in financial distress, secured and unsecured lenders, trade creditors, committees and parties interested in acquiring assets, in Chapter 11 business reorganizations, liquidations and workouts. Industries with which he has experience include, construction, design, fashion, manufacturing, distribution, materials handling, retail, aviation and ground transportation.

Myles has been guiding business leaders, accountants and lawyers through Chapter 11 Business Reorganizations since 1986. His clients range from large financial institutions and global companies to closely held businesses and individuals.

Myles Alderman has published works on the subject including the Bankruptcy Law Chapter of theConnecticut Lawyers Deskbook (CBA, 2008) and the best selling business bankruptcy law bookChapter 11 Business Reorganizations: For Business Leaders, Accountants And Lawyers (Outskirtspress, 2006). His explanations of the bankruptcy process have appeared in a wide range of publications including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. He has crafted strategies to help clients address issues of first impression in cases that have been "mission critical" to clients.

He also has extensive experience with complex litigation, arbitration and mediation. Myles regularly represents franchisees and has substantial experience resolving disputes on behalf of Subway franchisees.

Mr. Alderman is admitted to practice before the District Court and the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and will meet in the New York Office for the convenience of clients appearing in those courts.

Myles did tremendously good work for us. A matter that could have dragged on for months or ended in court was successful negotiated in a minimum of time with very satisfactory results. Myles was a bulldog with our case and got things done we wouldn’t thought possible. I would highly recommend Myles and am very, very impressed with his knowledge, persistence and legal skills.

I didn’t think we had a case when we first contacted Myles. After reviewing our case, he felt confident that not only did we have a case, but that he would be able to get us a settlement without going to court. Which is what he did! I don’t know when this guy sleeps because he answered my emails and phone calls at whatever crazy hour they came in! He not only saved me a lot of money in the long run, but he saved my mental health! Would recommend him HIGHLY!

DISCLAIMER: The client doubted they had a case because their first attorney told them they had no case. Once we completed our document review we were confident in the merits of the client's position. Not every case review reveals such a strong case.

I was referred to Attorney Alderman by a close friend. Myles had resolved my friend's incredibly complicated case, saving him close to 800,000 dollars. From the first day I retained Myles for a challenging case with a lender, he worked non-stop to find a resolution. Myles is "always available" and returns e-mails and phone calls IMMEDIATELY. Myles is extremely knowledgeable, organized and explains in detail his strategies.
