I had hired Dianne Ellis to represent me in a divorce and custody case. I was quickly disgusted when she laid out her "path to winning". It consisted of filing a consistent stream of allegations, petitions for restraining orders, and subpoenas for every aspect of my ex-partners professional and personal life. Her rationale was that by doing this the court hearings would be able to be continued for a lengthy time period (years), and eventually my ex-partner would be so worn out, financially drained, and mentally destroyed that they would either "disappear" by their own hand, or just give up and not even fight. Dianne wanted to turn a good, dedicated parent into a dead-beat on paper for the court system, regardless of if it was true or not. When I told her she would no longer be representing me, Dianne stated that it had worked for many others and I would be a fool to not destroy a good person just because I felt "sorry" for a loser. I pray for the lost soul of her morality every day.
Ellis law firm are incompetent. Steals your retainer with no actual work. Horrible communication, non-existent and I show up for court that is delayed again because of Mrs Ellis. Abysmal. Utter incompetence in carrying out child custody and support. Nasty, self-centered, should not be licensed. Unable, unwilling, uncaring or just doesn’t know how to do her job. I am sorry to hurt feelings, but please seek help. Ongoing counseling and a very good office manager is the only solution forward.
I will be reporting her to the MS bar and Attorney General for unacceptable behavior. She refuses to communicate so you are left the the dark for months on end after she takes your money. You will never get an update on your case no matter how many times you call or email. I guess this is her way of running up your legal bill by ignoring you so you call over and over trying to get an answer. All she has to do is pick up the phone and update you but she can't even do that. She should not take a case if she does not intend or have time to properly represent you. You will be better off representing yourself.
Dianne did not do anything that she ever stated she would. She would always tell me what I wanted to hear but never did anything to back that up. Her communication was even worse. I could send her an email and it would sometimes take her 1.5 months to ever get back with me. She wouldn't even respond to all my questions just the ones that she felt she needed to. She was just an overall horrible lawyer and my experience with her was not good at all. I would not recommend her to anyone at all!
