Horan was the lawyer on my father’s case that was pushed back for 3 years. My grandmother passed away before she could even have clarity as to what the case would be. She put her house up for collateral so that Horan could be paid. Horan’s first time going to the scene of the crime was in 2024. When his trial started Monday he told my dad that he should take the years (30) and don’t bother taking the case to trial. He also told him that he had hope and that a man with no hope is a dead man. What does that even mean? He also threatened him that the trial would get ugly if he had not taken the years so he took Horan’s word and now he is serving prison time, he now has a permanent record and won’t even get to see his daughter graduate high school or college. This has been such a disheartening experience and it seems like Horan is just greedy and only wants money.
This law firm is the absolute worst. I hired this firm for a criminal matter. He made promises that he didn't keep and had no intentions on keeping. He has no respect for your money once he gets your money you can't get him on the phone. He does not return calls. Court day he didn't show up, but sends a rookie. Very prejudice.
I did not have great experience with this law firm. Attorney Payton Horan represented my case. He had no knowledge of mental illness and a lack of empathy for this case. His main concern was money after his father stated I could pay when we go to trial. Attorney Payton was not aware of my son whereabouts while in custody and he kept saying " The sheriff and I are friends ". Friendship overruled his duty as a lawyer. I am very disappointed in this lawyer.
