Mitchell Byrd earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College in 2000 and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2004. He served on the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate, and Trust Journal and participated in the Moot Court Bar.
Mitchell began his career as an economic crime prosecutor with the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office before focusing his practice on workers’ compensation and injury litigation. Over the past decade, he has successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of injured workers and their families across South Carolina.
Mitchell is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, Injured Workers’ Advocates (IWA), the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG), and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum—an honor limited to attorneys who have achieved verdicts or settlements exceeding one million dollars.
He is recognized among the Legal Elite of the Upstate, is a graduate of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Leadership Academy, and a certified South Carolina Circuit Court Mediator. In 2024, the readers of the Greenville Post and Courier selected Mitchell as “Best Workers’ Compensation attorney. In 2025, Mitchell was thrilled to win “Best Compensation Attorney” in the Greenville News “Best of the Upstate” event.
Outside of the courtroom, Mitchell enjoys time with his wife Megan and their son Patrick, as well as music, guitar, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
