The law firm of Scott, Ray & Sullivan, PLLC, traces its history to 1977, when it was started by Robert L. Scott and his former partner Bob Crouch, who left a local firm and purchased an abandoned furniture store at our firm's present location.
During the next thirty years of practice, Mr. Scott's firm has represented banks, title companies, governmental bodies, businesses, and individuals. His track record as a brilliant litigator has produced enormous success for his clients in judgments and settlements and his expertise in real estate transactions and contract negotiations make him the perfect legal partner in any business endeavor. Through the years, a number of associates have graduated from Mr. Scott's tutelage to hold a variety of public offices as both lawyers and judges, cementing his already exceptional reputation in and around Hunt County.
In 2007, Daniel W. Ray left a practice at a prominent Dallas law firm for the opportunity to return home to Greenville and partner with Mr. Scott. Prior to their return, they represented many Fortune 500 companies, major insurance carriers and underwriters, nationally-recognized mortgage companies, national and Dallas-based real estate investors and developers, and countless other business clients in a wide variety of practice areas.
In 2016, the firm added a law partner, Abigail Kweller Sullivan, who is a Greenville native and joined the law firm in 2013. Abigail, who commonly goes by “Abby,” maintains clientele with matters related to real estate, wills, probate, litigation, intellectual property, and business law. She also assists the other partners in representing various local governments and subdivisions of the State.
In late 2015, Scott, Ray & Sullivan, PLLC gained two new associate attorneys, Katrina M. Pemberton and Markus A. Goll. Both associate attorneys interned with the firm during law school and have now joined the firm as associate attorneys since becoming licensed in Texas. Both attorneys are accepting cases and assisting the partners with litigation and government clients.
Although Scott, Ray & Sullivan, PLLC is still a general law practice that can address almost any legal need, in recent years the practice has concentrated primarily on representing local governments, businesses, and individuals in complex litigation disputes and probate matters.
Though our legal experience qualifies us to handle the most complex litigation cases, real estate transactions, contractual disputes, business dealings, and estate planning issues, our true fulfillment comes from sharing the joy of our client's successes. For this reason, we pride ourselves on developing relationships with our clients and providing prompt, personal service each time you call, write, or drop in for a visit.
Our attorneys are real people, with real lives outside of our law practice. We value and enjoy our ability to spend time with our families and with our public service activities. The small size of our firm has allowed us to place a priority upon our personal and community commitments. We have volunteered much of our time and energy in a variety of organizations and causes in the Hunt County area. Members of the firm are serving or have served in the following organizations: Greenville Board of Development, Highland Terrace Baptist Church, Boy Scouts of America, Tools For Schools, The Raffa Clinic, The Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum, United Way of Hunt County, and many other civic organizations.
